Smartphone Link is compatible with a variety of Bluetooth® enabled Garmin navigation devices. These include Garmin Drive™, Garmin DriveSmart™, Garmin DriveAssist™, Garmin DriveLuxe™ automotive navigators, Garmin RV and Camper navigators, zūmo motorcycle navigators, dēzl truck navigators, and select nüvi automotive navigators (3597/3598/2x17/2x18/2x97/2x98/2x67/2x68/2577).
If you want a detailed list of compatible Garmin devices, you can visit garmin.com/spl.
It is worth noting that certain models may require a software update, which can be easily accessed on garmin.com/express.
Smartphone Link offers a seamless connection between your iPhone® and a compatible Garmin navigator. By linking the devices together, your Garmin navigator can utilize your existing mobile data plan[1] to share information with your iPhone. This includes sharing contacts, search results, favorite locations, driving destinations, and even parking spots. Additionally, Smartphone Link allows your compatible Garmin navigator to access Garmin Live Services[2], providing you with real-time driving information that can be extremely helpful.
What Are Garmin Live Services?
Garmin Live Services provide up-to-date information to your Garmin navigator using your existing mobile data plan. There is no need for an additional data connection. Some services are included when you connect to Smartphone Link. However, there are also optional paid subscriptions within the app that offer premium content and enhanced features. It's important to note that in order to receive location-specific data through Garmin Live Services, your current GPS location must be shared with Garmin and their partners.
The included Live Services are as follows:

<li>Address sharing: You can send locations and online search results from your phone to your compatible Garmin navigator and navigate directly to them.</li>
<li>Garmin Live Traffic: This feature provides real-time traffic updates, helping you avoid delays and find detours. Garmin Live Traffic is updated every minute, receiving over 1,000 messages during each update cycle.</li>
<li>Live Parking[3]: Save valuable time and reduce stress when it comes to parking. Live Parking provides helpful parking information, such as pricing and availability trends for on-street public parking, as you approach your destination.</li>
<li>Weather: Stay informed about weather conditions with forecasts and current weather updates.</li>
<li>Last Mile: This feature remembers your parking spot and displays your destination, enabling you to easily find your way back on foot.</li>
</ul>
Premium Live Services are also available within the app for a one-time[4] purchase. These services include:
<ul>
<li>photoLive traffic cameras[2]: Access live photos from over 10,000 traffic cameras to see real-time traffic and weather conditions.</li>
<li>Advanced Weather[2]: Get detailed weather information such as forecasts, current conditions, animated radar images, and severe weather alerts.</li>
<li>Dynamic Off-Street Parking[2]: Find parking near your destination, including information on the number of spots available and the current cost.</li>
</ul>
